Outjo Namibia

Outjo - Northern Namibia
Outjo serves as a commercial centre for the large farms of the region and more recently has developed as a staging post for tourists on their way to Damaraland and the famous Etosha National Park. Outjo in Herero means "little hills", abundance of these surrounding the town. The first Europeans to settle here were big game hunters and traders. In 1895, part if the German army was stationed here, during their period of residence they built several solid buildings, some of which still stand today. These include Water Tower, Frank House and large for tress on the west bank of the river, the later no longer survives.
